These introductions guide you through the process of setting up your work environment, modeling and getting from an idea to a simple solution. • Customizing the modeling domain • The four standard meta models offer a rich business language that should cover most - if not all - of your needs. When these standard meta models are not sufficient to describe the business domain, there are three options for customizing the modeling domain. • Modeling your business • To ensure the quality and consistency of implementations, all Be Informed implementations should follow the same process, consisting of smoothed, standardized paths with known activities. Be Structured provides the methodology for the realization of customer solutions with the Be Informed business process platform, mainly by modeling. The methodology can be used for single solutions as well as for enterprise-wide infrastructures and can be trimmed for large and small scale usage. • Modeling products • Products are modeled in the Product Domain. Examples of products are: insurances, permits, benefits, grants, and taxes. During the modeling process the constraints of the product are modeled in decisions, classifications and / or calculations. • Modeling registers • Registers are centrally managed storage of information that are widely reusable within an application. Registers are used in situations that require storing of data about certain aspects such as employee information or personal information in an insurance policy. • Configuring interaction • The interaction offered in model driven business application developed with Be Informed can be tailored to the needs of your organization and the users of the system. This is done by a combination of modeling and configuration of behavior profiles. • Configuring behavior • In Be Informed, models are made executable through services. Examples of services are creating a case, making a decision or calculation and generating a document. Behavior profiles are used to configure the behavior of these services.

Be Informed Studio Set Up • Choose the right installation package • Windows Vista or Windows 7 (32 and 64-bits) • Install Be Informed Studio • Select English, 311 MB • Start Be Informed Studio • License File • Create a project • Cross Information Sharing and Integration • Set up a project structure • It is considered good practice to create a hierarchy according to the four domains: case management, products and decisions, interaction and registration. In addition, it is good practice to create folders that correspond to the major concepts of each domain. The case management folder could contain, for instance, folders for cases, activities, and case objects.
