  1. Vocab. Warm-up, List 16 Write sentences or a paragraph using at least 5 of your words. Create at least one simile or metaphor in your sentences. Simile: Comparing two things using like or as Metaphor: Comparing two things without the word like or as Underline/highlight your words in the sentences and identify your simile/metaphor.

  2. Example: Her smile was as alluring as a warm summer afternoon. Simile because it uses the word as. His mind is a commodious library with plenty of room for new information. Metaphor because his mind is a library. His face on the statue was like an imposing edifice rising above us on a city sidewalk. Simile because it uses the word like.
