  2. The ETHS PE Department offers a variety of Jr/Sr PE Courses. The courses offered allows you to participate in physical activity that interest you best. Our mission is to encourage, inspire and motivate students to gain a deeper knowledge of, and appreciation for, vigorous physical activity and wellness as life-long endeavors. PLEASE HELP US HELP YOU! At the end of this presentation, jot down a list of activities you would like to do that wasn’t mention during the presentation.

  6. Adapted PE Assistants • This course has an application process. Students interested must sign up today to start the application process. All applications must be submitted by December 17, 2013.

  7. Advanced Dance • This is a year-long course. This course is designed for those interested in the dance genres of Modern, Jazz, Ballet, etc.

  8. Advanced Lifeguard Training Prerequisite: • Students must be able to swim at least 300 yards using breast and freestyle strokes, tread in deep water for two minutes, retrieve a ten pound weight from the bottom of the pool and swim 20 yards with the ten pound weight.

  9. Advanced Strength Training • This advanced level course is designed for athletes and fitness enthusiasts. Students workout in the weight room three times a week.

  10. Adventure Education 1 & 2 • Students in this cooperative education course will do a lot of team building and trust activities. Wall climbing, high ropes course, canoeing and more are required. • Students must pass Adventure Education 1 with a “B” or better to qualify for Adventure Education 2

  11. Early Bird Fitness • This course meets from 7:10am to 7:50am. This all fitness course is great for those who desire more time in their schedule during the school day.

  12. Competitive Sports & Fitness • This course is designed for students who enjoy improving fitness levels through competitive sports. Tactics and good sportsmanship are stressed.

  13. Fusion Fitness • This course is designed for students who enjoy improving fitness levels through yoga, kickboxing, resistance training and more. Students will learn stress reduction exercises.

  14. Global Dance • This dance course offers a combination of dances from around the world, fitness and resistance training.

  15. Healthy Lifestyles & Fitness • This course has an application process. Students interested must sign up today to start the application process. All applications must be submitted by December 17, 2013.

  16. Junior Leadership Training • This course has an application process. Students interested must sign up today to start the application process. All applications must be submitted by December 17, 2013.

  17. Martial Arts 1 & 2 • Students will explore the skills and concepts of Tai Chi, Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, Capoeria, Tae Kwon Do, Self-Defense and more. • Students must successfully pass MA1 to register for MA2

  18. Sports Officiating • This course teaches students the art and craft of officiating. Students will learn to officiate various team sports and will have the opportunity to become certified to officiate sport contest at the middle school level in Evanston’s District 65.
