Masculine and Feminine: And why they matter Rule: All nouns (things) in french are either masculine or feminine This affects how you say “a” • une= “a” (feminine) • un = “a” (masculine) • Example: • a pizza = une pizza • a hamburger = un hamburger Example: pizza = feminine hamburger = masculine Activity #1: • Look up five foods en francais, and then write them out, adding the appropriate “a” (une vs. un) in front.
