  2. CLASSROOM RULES • Follow all school/district rules. • Respect yourselves and your fellow students. (Give them space, keep your hands, legs and unkind comments to yourselves, and respect the property of others) • Take care of this place. (if you get it out/put it back the way you found it/keep your space/area clean) • Be in your seat when the bell rings. • Follow directions the first time given. • Bring all books and materials to class.   3. Rules • NO one will leave the classroom until all trash is properly disposed. • NO one will touch Teachers property or desk or computers without permission FIRST. PPT developed by Debra Wilson

  4. Discipline Plan • First Warning by teacher • Second Warning – speak to in private • Third Warning- call home, parent to return to school to visit teacher next day/lunch detention. • Fourth Warning- discipline note to Admin. • Severe Disruption- Student will be removed by Administrator.   5. Restroom or Release from Class • Students may only use the bathroom in an emergency situation after 30 mins of the bell. Agenda book must be completed and signed by teacher. Time out sheets must be completed with times in and out. Located on teacher desk. PPT developed by Debra Wilson

  6. Pencil Sharpener • I expect you to sharpen your pencils before class starts or after oral instruction so you will not disrupt the learning of others. PPT developed by Debra Wilson

  7. Methods of Instruction • Lecture, discussion, small group activities, drill oral presentation, audiovisual/demonstration, and current events. First 45 mins of class is direct instruction of a particular skill needed along with practice exercises. Last 45 mins students are actively engaged in study time. This is NOT a homework class or social hour !!!! PPT developed by Debra Wilson

  8. Expectations • I expect all students are to pick up their portfolio from the crate. Then write the daily agenda and shark bait on the daily worksheet. Homework must be written down in your agenda book also. Students should be doing these activities while teacher is taking attendance. PPT developed by Debra Wilson

  9. Expectations continued • Daily instruction of a particular skill will be given after shark bait and daily worksheet. Homework will be attached to daily worksheet daily. This form is worth 100 pts and will be turned in on Friday. SAT words will also be given and completed on the SAT vocabulary worksheet. This will be during the first 45 minutes of class time.   10. Expectations continued • The last 45 minutes is STUDY TIME- This is your time to complete assignments from your regular classes, or re-read text from classes, or enjoyment reading. All reading assignments must be completed on the Reading Strategies form. I and the administration expect you to be actively engaged during this time. This is not social time.   11. Expectations Continued • You are expected to LEARN !! • Attend school regularly • Get to class on time. • Conduct yourself appropriately. • Dress for success ! • Except responsibility !!! PPT developed by Debra Wilson

  12. Tardies • I expect that you will be on time to class. You will not be allowed to visit another teacher or locker after the bell rings. You MUST PLAN AHEAD of time !!!! I am not your babysitter or mother! Look at me as your BOSS !!! PPT developed by Debra Wilson

  13. Absence • If you are absent from school. I expect you make up the assignments given like you would any other regular class. This class is an elective credit. You can not receive a grade for doing nothing. This is YOUR responsibility !! PPT developed by Debra Wilson

  15. Computer Use in Classroom • Must have Teacher permission to use computer first. SIGN IN SHEET MUST BE USED. • No downloading of games, music, or software. No music CD’s loaded. • No sharing of passwords to log in computer. 4. Use of computer limited to projects, and classroom research only. Other uses must have prior permission from Teacher.   16. VANDALISM OF COMPUTERS Vandalism of computer hardware will result in disciplinary action. Vandalism includes, but is not limited to, removing mouse ball and/or mouse, deliberate erasing data and/or files, placing foreign objects such as paperclips in disk or CD-ROM drives, removing or altering placement of keyboard keys.   17. Web Site • I expect for you to give me papers or pictures to put on my web site. Homework for the week will be on the web page. Also, I do have a newspaper that I would like to complete every month. It is called “Wilson’s Monthly”. I expect you to write articles to place in the newspaper. This is for fun!!!
