  1. FIRE! The Story of Jacob Bruner By Titus Aaron

  2. My neighbor Jacob Bruner is my neighbor. He has lived in his house for over 50 years. He is a hero because he saved me and my dad when our house was on fire. It happened 10 years ago when I was only 1. He was an old man then but he saved our lives.

  3. The Story Jacob Bruner was getting a drink of water at night when he woke up. He walked by his window and saw a lot of red light outside. When he looked out the window he saw fire coming out of the top of our house and a lot of smoke.

  4. He ran out of his house and rang our doorbell but no one came. So he started banging on the door and then he broke a window so he could get in and save us. He woke up my Dad and my Dad got me out of my baby bed.

  5. The fire was too big for my Dad to put out. Mr. Bruner went back to his house and called the fire department. My Dad says if Mr. Bruner had not come to our house and broken the window that my Dad and I would have been dead.

  6. My hero Jacob Bruner is my hero because he saved my life and my Dad’s life. We would not be here today if he had not woken my Dad up. When my Mom came back from her trip, she thanked him a lot and cried a lot. We invite him to Thanksgiving because all of his family is gone and he is a big part of our family. Because he saved our lives.

  7. Conclusion A hero does not have to be someone who does something important, but my hero did do something important. Mr. Jacob Bruner did not have to come to our house and go into it when it was burning. He could have just called the police or the fire department. When I interviewed him, he said he did not do anything special or anything that someone else would not do. But I think a lot of people would not go in when a house was burning. He has many good qualities of a hero. He is brave, smart and cares about other people. He will always be my family’s hero.
