This workshop presentation discusses the pivotal role of baryon number violation in the Standard Model, referencing influential studies by 't Hooft and the 1985 work of Kuzmin, Rubakov, and Shaposhnikov on baryogenesis via sphaleron processes. The phenomenon of N-Nbar oscillations is examined, along with explicit models predicting baryon-violating decays and associated CP asymmetries. We also explore dark matter implications within a unified model and discuss various baryogenesis mechanisms, emphasizing their significance in understanding matter's origin in the universe.
