Cy DeCosse, born in Valley City, ND in 1929, is a visionary photographer who fell in love with the medium while studying in Florence. After a hiatus to work in advertising, he returned to photography in 1994. Self-taught with a unique approach, he specializes in close-ups and complex printing techniques like Platinum and gum dichromate printing, which lend his work brilliant colors and rich textures. His art often explores similarities and differences in natural forms, emphasizing contrast and balance, showcasing the beauty of both flowers and abstract elements.
