Let No One Despise Your Youth 1 Tim 4:12 • Passage has 2 possible interpretations: • Let no one convince you that you can’t contribute to the cause of Christ just because you’re young • Do not give others a reason to disdain your youth because of your choices cp. Eccl 11:9 Gal 6:7-8 4 • Even youth can be an “example”

Build On Your Parents’ Faith 2 Tim 1:5-13 • Some points in text are only for Timothy v. 6 • Most points are for young saints in all ages • Keep nurturing the faith instilled in you by your parents v. 5 • Don’t be ashamed v. 8 • Hold to the standard of truth v. 13

  4. Guard The Treasure In You 2 Tim 1:14 • Many kingdoms have “treasures” Ù Christ’s kingdom is no exception • “Treasure” = truth cp. Lk 17:20-21 2 Cor 4:6-7 • It must be “guarded” so that it is not “snatched away” cp. Mt 13:19 Eph 3:4

  5. Determine To Be Faithful Dan 1:8-16 • Must be done so that we please the Lord and not conform to the world around us cp. Rom 12:1-2 Col 3:1-4 • Daniel’s status in God’s kingdom was more important that anything King Nebuchadnezzar could offer him vv. 5, 8

Determine To Be Faithful Dan 1:8-16 • Daniel wouldn’t be intimidated by powerful men & their rules that would violate his faith vv. 8b, 10 • Daniel was determined to find a way to please God first, then man vv. 11-13 • Creatively finding such solutions shows God’s way is always best cp. Rom 12:2b

  7. Fulfill Obligations Incumbent Upon All Disciples • Faithfully attend all assemblies Heb 10:25 • Invite others to church with you • Keep studying everyday to grow in your faith 2 Tim 2:15
