  1. “THE UNIVERSAL AID FOR PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED" ------ Greening their lives KONGU ENGINEERING COLLEGE Tamil Nadu www.aid4challengers.co.cc

  2. A challenge to society ……Isn’t it????

  3. A challenge to the challenge……??? We made it possible!!!

  4. OUR MOTTO To help the differently able to bring out their talents into the limelight and eventually greening their lives. Ultimately our motto is GREEN ENGINEERING i.e, with the implementation of engineering we try to green the lives of differently able persons.

  5. VISION FOR BLIND. • WHO estimated that in 2002 there were 161 million (about 2.6% of the world population) visually impaired people in the world • Is there any solution for this problem? • Braille method is the existing one but to be more effective we have arrived at this solution of ”AID FOR BLIND PEOPLE”

  6. Working Principle –(Blind Aid Kit) • A scanner is used to obtain the image of the text material • The processor converts “Image to text” • Then “Text to voice” converter is used, whose output is ultimately fed to the headphone of the blind person . • Hence he is able to read the content of any text material • The next prototype helps the blind person to identify the places with the help of the RFID technology

  9. deaf • Conventional methods are available for partially deaf • What about the case of completely Deaf???? • A big QUESTION MARK is in front of us ,let’s provide the solution for them. • This is the place where our project the so called “aid for deaf “ comes in handy.

  10. Working Principle –(Deaf Aid Kit) • The principle of operation is that sound files concerned with real time happenings are stored • The deaf person is provided with the system consisting of microphone, IC’S along with a vibrator to cause sensational effect whenever the person comes across the sounds. • Sounds in the environment will be matched. • He will be alerted with a vibration along with an LCD display displaying the events such as car sound, water drops, etc.,

  12. dumb • It is very difficult for the dumb to survive, though they are mentally talented but they are unable to present them to the world • Only possible way for them to speak is that they can express their views in a written format • With present technology , a device is made such that they can speak which means that they are speaking virtually

  13. Working Principle –(Dumb Aid Kit) • To make dumb speak a device is made of electro sensitive panel which can be fit to the palm • In which the alphabets are embedded easily in multiple manner such that the person can easily press the soft buttons • Whenever he completes his typing followed by enter key, it will be read aloud using the high sensitive speaker • Ex:-’H’,E’,’L’,’L’,’O’-Spelt as “Hello”

  15. Credits and Feedbacks Presented At: • Anna University-Chennai • CODISSIA-INTEC2009 (International Trade Fair) Published In: • VALAR THOZHIL-(Monthly Tamil Magazine) www.aid4challengers.co.cc

  16. FutureWorks • The response was good from differently able people and it was noted that they need in a portable way. • These prototypes can be converted to smaller ones with the implementation of VLSI technology. • The above mentioned systems are prototypes, it has to be made in large scale and also in a cost effective manner.
