  3. How have attitudes to crime and punishment changed over time. Sort the cards you receive into chronological order and then try to categories them into ‘cheeky, tiny, pink, parrot’! Which periods saw the most dramatic changes? Can you guess why?

  4. Gadzooks, Mr Higgins! You sure know how to produce fun lessons! To develop your understanding of chronology, we are now going to take you on a webquest! Complete the instructions and if possible the extension tasks on the webquest you are directed to.

  5.  Your task Rule 1: 20 words per slide Rule 2: 1, A4 handout for each class member Give a 5 minute presentation on your period.   6.  Plenary • How many of the words on the previous slide can you define? • Identify the period your teacher describes • 3 interesting facts discovered from your timeline • Which period saw the greatest change? Why? • Did you find out any local crime and punishment stories, e.g. Ruth Ellis?
