Membership Initiative The background • Going forward, likely to organise activities around functions • One of these functions is membership (medical personnel) • Key objectives for this membership initiative are to: • increase number of medical personnel involved in motor sport • increase solidarity and communication between medical personnel involved in motor sport • Conceptual design for initiative was finalised at end of 2009 with input from core group of doctors (“the Faculty”) • Given restructure of Institute, rollout of certain initiatives delayed pending review of Institute’s strategy • Institute seeking to advance this Initiative, by seeking input from summit participants

Membership Initiative The benefits • Institute will offer benefits to create value for members • Currently planned to offer the following benefits: • free copy of the Institute’s book, Motor Sport Medicine • free hard copy of the FIA and FIA Institute’s bi-monthly magazine • access to an on-line private membership directory • access to exclusive member only annual Institute events • access to an on-line private area containing medical content • Annual membership fee will be €100 • Discounted rates of 50% and 75% available to those who reside in middle / low income countries

Membership Initiative The application process • Membership available to all medical personnel involved or interested in motor sport, located in a country which has an ASN • Institute has created an on-line application form • On-line form currently has 8 sections, including a code of conduct • Payments will be processed in real-time • Membership is for a period of one year • Renewal process automated following approval from member

  6. Membership Initiative Next steps • Obtain feedback from Summit participants (today) • Analyse feedback, and incorporate appropriate elements into membership initiative • Launch Initiative.....
