  2. What is RVTS? • Annual cohort of registrars – Non GPET • Remotely located • Solo practice • Remote supervision • Endpoint Dual Fellowship • FACRRM • FRACGP

  3. RVTS Teaching Program • 3 years plus advanced training year • All training within the registrar’s own practice • Weekly teletutorials – 30 per year • Twice yearly face to face meetings • Distance education modules • External teaching visits 3 times per year • Internet/Email

  4. RVTS Background • 1999 Pilot Remote Vocational Training Scheme Established (PRVTS) • joint training arrangements between ACRRM RACGP • Dual endpoint FACRRM • FRACGP   • Jan 2000 – First intake of 11 registrars

  5. RVTS Background • 2003 “P” Dropped from the name became RVTS • 2006 RVTS Ltd established • Directly funded by DoHA • 15 registrars per year

  6. RVTS Results • 40 “Graduates” • 95% pass rate for FRACGP exam • 3 External evaluations • All positive
