The Metadata Working Group (MWG) has updated its charter for the first time since 2006, transitioning from an ad hoc group to a more structured entity. This revision reflects the current environment, references ISO standards, and aims to strengthen ties with other FGDC activities. Key updates include promoting training, assigning representatives to the Standards Working Group, and a new membership page. The final draft was approved by stakeholders in early 2023 and is ready for the Coordination Group's vote. For more information, contact Jennifer Carlino at FGDC.
