Green Associate Exam Format The LEED Green Associate exam is designed to measure your ability to understand and support green design, construction, and operations. • 100 randomly delivered multiple choice questions • Must be completed in two hours. • Total seat time 2 hours and 20 minutes including an optional tutorial and short satisfaction survey. Green Associate Eligibility Requirements • Experience on a project registered for LEED certification OR • Current or previous employment in a sustainable field OR • Enrollment in or completion of an educational program that addresses green building practices. The Exam Application must include a letter of attestation from a supervisor, client, project manager, or teacher OR it must include transcripts. USGBC Arkansas

  18. Fees • Application fee: $50.00 • Exam fee: • $150 for members and full-time students • $200 for non-members • Credentials Maintenance Program (CMP) renewal fee: • $50 every two years USGBC Arkansas

How do I Schedule My Exam • Go to www.prometric.com/gbci to schedule an exam appointment • Several Little Rock area locations • Use your Eligibility ID • Cancelled or Rescheduled appointments within 30 days of the examination will charge a $50.00 fee. • Your account will be updated once GBCI receives your test results from Prometric. Credential Maintenance Credential maintenance is the continuing education completed by LEED Green Associates and LEED APs with specialty to do the following: • Maintain current knowledge of green building practices • Grow knowledge base • Stay current with best practices  • Show clients and employers expertise is meaningful in the marketplace • Biennial Fees: $50.00 USGBC Arkansas

Credential Maintenance • LEED Green Associates are required by GBCI to complete and report 15Continuing Education (CE) hours each reporting period; 3 of these hours must be LEED-specific. • Education Reviewing Body approved activities • Live presentations • Self-study programs • College and university courses • Certificates, professional licenses, and credentials • Committee and volunteer work • Authorship • LEED project participation • Look for the GBCI CMP logo in the course catalog to designate courses that count for CE hours. Charrette • The word charrette may refer to any collaborative session in which a group of designers drafts a solution to a design problem. • Key to involve all stakeholders early in process • Decide if pursuing a specific certification level early • Example: All Schools in New Orleans must be built to LEED NC Silver • Sets key criteria of the building- approx size, usage, owners/tenant goals, timeline.   41. Preliminary Ratings • Design Team - How to Target a Certification Level • Decide which rating system best suits your project and set a clear environmental target during an ECO-Charrette. This would include a "stretch" goal -- to stimulate creativity. • Create a LEED action plan and set a clear and adequate budget. Higher levels of LEED certification may require additional capital expenditure and should be budgeted for accordingly • Stick to your budget and your LEED goal. Throughout the design and building process, be sure your entire project team is focused on meeting your LEED goal on budget. Maintain the environmental and economic integrity of your project at every turn. • Engineer for Life Cycle Value. As you value-engineer your project, be sure to examine green investments in terms of how they will affect expenses over the entire life of the building. USGBC Arkansas
