Supervisor Learning Community By the end of this session, you will be able to: • Identify all the additional opportunities afforded to you for community building, peer learning, and continued support through the VISTA Campus (including forums, webinars, and other resources) • Have a final opportunity to dialogue with CNCS/State Office staff and get your questions answered • Reflect on how the skills and information gained in this orientation will help you impact your community, impact your VISTA members, and impact yourself

  3. VISTA Campus Mini-Teach Activity: • Sit with the members of your VISTA Campus team • Share resources from the Campus to create your group poster • Each group provides a 4-5 minute “mini-teach” regarding the resources they found for their particular area of the Campus

  4. Staying Connected • Share highlights of your Mix and Mingle appointments • Explore how you are addressing poverty in your community • Discuss how you want to stay connected later

  5. CNCS Q&A ? Remember: State-specific questions can always be brought up with your state offices!

  6. Impacting Communities, Organizations, VISTAs, and You • Think about all the skills and knowledge you have learned over the past couple of days and the awesome road that is set before you. • Think about your community and the impact you hope to achieve through your VISTA project. • Now visualize one of your VISTA members (one that is already working with you or one that has yet to be placed).

Impacting Communities, Organizations, VISTAs, and You Key Questions: • How do you see yourself impacting this person’s life and career? • What did they learn from you? • What qualities did you possess to make such a change this person? • Because of your influence, what changes were brought about in your community?

  8. Impacting Communities, Organizations, VISTAs, and You What one promise will you make to yourself in order to be the kind of mentor/coach/supervisor that you need to be to make that change happen?
