  5. Goals for the Semester (continued) • Understand and Navigate the Ed Program at UWEC • Our members range from 1st year to 5th year and beyond. We can all share our experience with one another. • Have fun and make some new friends

  6. Pen Pals • Speaking of getting involved, Pen Pals is a great way to do so.

  7. Expectations from You • Attend meetings • Watch your inboxes for updates • Get involved • Check out OrgSync once in a while to keep up on volunteer opportunities • Recruit your friends! The more members we have, the more exciting things we’ll be able to do. • You’ll only get as much or as little out of Student WEA as you put in.

  10. Upcoming PDS! • Carpooling is being arranged by our VP, Laura Kahlow. Stay tuned for her email. • Target departure is 5pm on Friday. • Bring business casual/teaching attire for both Friday evening and Saturday morning. • Prepare to learn lots and have fun – it’s a blast!

  11. Educational Politics Update • Governor Walker recall election • Over 1 Million signatures were collected, so the recall election will probably happen. Here’s the timeline:17 Jan – signature collection deadline16 Mar – Gov Accountability Board reviews the petition19 Mar – GAB certifies election for new governor.1 May – earliest date for governor primary election29 May – earliest date for gov general election
