attitudes and pillars • information • inclusion of musician's health subjects in the schools, meetings, seminars, music workshops • improving health professionals knowledge in treating musicians, so as to be able to understand and evaluate the process of physical illness
identity • have I been to the doctor regularly? how are my blood levels? • how much time do I dedicate to music, family, rest and physical activity? • have I taken care of my diet? how's my sleep pattern? • have I cared about general culture or just interested in issues related to music? • how are my social and professional relationships?
do you see yourself as a worker? • are you organized and represented by competent and effective agencies? • some results from a survey by the OT (EXERSER) - speeches by orchestra musicians from BH, MG, Brazil: • (LIMA, R.C. Functional Neuromuscular Disorders Work Related: Characterization and Clinical Occupational Risk Perception By Violinists Orchestra, Public Health, Faculty of Medicine, UFMG, Belo Horizonte, 2007.)
“It's different... is a gift. But I also know that a person who’s working with the computer staf, is a gift. I don’t know... I graduated in engineering, also worked in the construction area. There is a difference... I can not explain the difference but there is something. You know when we like something… more you want to leave it, you can not. I left the area of construction, engineering and did not miss it very much. But if I leave the orchestra, I may be sick... the basic difference to me is this...” “Our work never finishes at the rehearsal. Instead, there is the smallest part. The biggest one is the homework. People forget that to play at the orchestra you need time to study.”
environment • the concern about the study, record and work enviornments is the main part that we call the attitude towards health promotion. It has to do with ergonomics
