  2. Classroom Rules We raise our hand to speak and work quietly at our seats We keep our hands to ourselves and use voices soft and sweet We are helpful to our friends and we keep our places neat!

  3. Rationales • If we do not raise our hand to speak or work quietly, no one could hear what needs to get done. • If we do not keep our hands to ourselves, we could get hurt and no one likes to be touched. • If we are not being helpful and friendly to our friends, then how can we expect them to be nice back to you? • We have to be neat at our house; we should treat our classroom just the same.

  4. Teaching the Rules The rules are stated in a poem/songlike form. This way it is easy to remember. The way I shall teach the rules is by having the class sing the poem every morning after the morning announcements. This way it shall be fresh in their brains everyday.

  5. Board Door Conference Tables ESOL Board Book Shelves Teacher Rocking Chair Prob Stud PS PS Teacher’s Desk Book Shelves Supplies

  6. Rationale • All desks face the board for optimum learning. • Teacher’s desk behind students to see everything. • Fun spot for reading and fun activities. • Conference tables to discuss assignments and books. • Supplies next to teachers desk to make sure everyone gets the supplies. • Problem student by the teacher to keep him/her disciplined. • ESOL student at the front to be able to pay attention at all times.

  7. Consequences & Rewards • I will have a card system set up where if a student misbehaves there card will go from green (good), to yellow (two warnings), to orange (3 warnings), to red (call home). • If the student is still at green at the end of the week, they will get to choose a prize from the treasure box (candy, little toys, etc.).

  8. Routines/Procedures • Passing out papers/ getting supplies- I will choose 4 students at random to give back papers. • Restroom- raise your hand to ask, then take the bathroom pass • Sharpen pencils- whenever some is not talking and, or raise your hand to ask • Turning in work- pass the work up to the front of the row, I will walk by and collect it • Taking attendance- seating chart so I can just mark off who isn’t here • Dismissing the class- In the last 10 minutes of class we will all sit down in the fun area and reflect on the day or read a book until the bell rings for school dismissal.
