  1. March Share Friday, February 25, 2011 Hello Hardworking Star Families, During the month of March, each child is asked to prepare a share that includes at least one custom, traditional food, sport, game, music, or clothing item from another country (either one your family is from OR one of interest). This share is partnering with our Social Studies curriculum to help children learn and experience the many traditions or customs that can be found in the United States today that have originated in other countries. The children are welcome to dress up, provide food that can be shared during break (keeping in mind we are a nut free school), sing, play a CD, teach the class a game, bring in pictures, etc. To “kick off” the share this month, Mr. Martin shared at morning meeting today for all of the 2nd graders. Ask your child what traditions Mr. Martin shared in regards to his home country Spain. Please use the attached sheet to help your child plan their share. We will have one-two share(s) per day. The schedule is attached. If you have any questions, please email me. mboyd@hydeelementary.org -Mrs. Boyd
