  1. What…. Why…. Who….. How…? You can become a Cinnire Ranga for our school .

  2. Our Meitheal / Strudents Council is a group of pupils that have been elected to representthe views of all pupils and to improve our school , its environment and give pupils a voice. We will call the representative from each class a Cinnire Ranga.

  3. Our Meitheal will meet once a month to discuss any issues or tasks that need to be carried out for our green school , school garden, outdoor classroom and other school ideas. Our Meitheal may have ideas on ICT for our school and record their activity on our website. • From this meitheal meeting, student representatives/Cinnirí Ranga will be given jobs to carry out and share with their class as part of circle time or an oral language lesson. • Cinniri Ranga will inform their own class at ‘circle time’ / ‘todays news’ outlining what they are trying to achieve and to listen to any suggestions their classmates might have. We will look at ideas for our Outdoor classroom and garden area. • They speak also with Mr Moran and keep him informed on progress. They will also give an overview at Senior and Junior assemblies in our halla.

  6. What would you like to achieve in your school? • Find a way to include everyone in playtimes giving and receiving .. Meitheal .. • Search for answers to student worries • Put together a written report of progress of Meitheal. • Take responsibility for improving Green School activity and progress in our school. • Update the school website with important ‘Meitheal’ giving and receiving issues for children in our school

  9. How does a Cinnire Ranga collect ideas? • Talk to your classmates • Bring their ideas to our ‘Meitheal ‘ • Discuss the items at class level. • Look for suggestions • Research the topic What other ways can you think of to collect student voices?

  11. You will still have your say even if you are not elected as a Cinnire Ranga. You will be able to make suggestions to the Cinire Ranga.
