  2. I am so glad that your child will be in my class this year! My goals for this year: • To create and promote a positive self-image in each student. • To foster a learning environment where children cooperate and respect themselves and others. • To help each child realize and reach his or her potential in a stimulating and safe environment. • To help each child love school and learning!

  3. A little about our day… I will be teaching your child in an advanced, enriched format in a way to prepare your child for second grade. We will enjoy Guided Reading and Literacy Workstations beginning the second six weeks. Library and Computer will begin in a few weeks. We are looking forward to a great year!

  4. Top Ten Things You Might Want to Know About Mrs. Leeper  10. I am happily married and have two children. Our daughter is a Kindergarten teacher in Katy, and our son is a sophomore at Texas A&M. They both attended Southside! 9. Our family enjoys sports, movies and spending time together. 8. I am a blood donor and have donated over 9 gallons to date. 7. I love plants and collect angels and crosses. 6. This is my twenty ninth year at Southside. 5. I was selected as AISD Teacher of the Year in 1994. 4. I have taught first, second and third grade. 3. I grew up in Cameron, Texas where my parents still live. 2. I graduated from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville. 1. I love Southside and am so glad your child will be in my class! 

  5. We Want YOU! This is your school. Please look for ways to be involved in your child’s education. We are always looking for volunteers, so let me know how you would like to help!

  6. Important Numbers 125 ……our room number 849-5245 ……our school phone number 7:40 ……morning Announcements begin each day in the Cafeteria 11:00 ……Lunch Time  #1 ……..Southside Elementary!!!!!!! Best Elementary in the District, soon to be in the state of Texas!
