Addressing Workflow and Security Requirements in Production

In production environments, it's crucial to focus on the end-to-end workflow that includes generators, transforms, document workflow, and multiple back ends. Understanding customer scenarios is vital, with PCI (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) often cited. Recent requests for digital signatures on AFP documents indicate rising security requirements. To address these needs, the AFPC is forming a Security Task Group to align production security with P2600 standards. Members are encouraged to engage with customers in secure environments for insights into production security requirements.

Feedback to P2600 • For Production it is important to address end-to-end workflow which includes generators, transforms, document workflow and (potentially) multiple back ends • What are the Production customer scenarios? • PCI (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) cited more frequently • Digital signatures on AFP docs has been requested • Requirements beginning to ramp up in general but not CC specific • AFPC will form a Security Task Group to investigate security requirements for Production and harmonize with P2600 • Harry – Chair • Participants • Jose & Carmen – Oce • Howard – InfoPrint • Alan & Carlos – Xerox • Eddy – Lexmark • Members are encouraged to interview customers running secure environments to gain a better understanding of Production security requirements.
