  1. Classroom Activities To Improve A Student's Listening Skills Listening is a very important skill that every student needs to learn & practice. There are a number of classroom activities that a teacher can use to hone listening skills of a student. Play Word/ Number Bingo Bingo games require every player to listen to the caller very carefully. So teachers can create bingo games around words or numbers which students have learnt in the class, this in turn will help them improve their listening skills. Describe The Photo Divide students into groups of 2 each and give each group a photograph. In every group, one student will describe the photograph & the other will draw a photo on his/her sheet. The group whose drawing matches their photograph most closely wins the activity. Secret Message Divide the class into two separate groups and make them stand in a line. Then, whisper a phrase to first student of each line, who in turn whispers the sentence to the next student, and so on down the line. The last student then repeats the message aloud to see if each one in the group listened to the message correctly & completely or not. Blindfold Walking Divide students into groups of two, where one student of each group is blindfolded. Make a small obstacle course in your classroom that the blindfolded student has to complete by listening to the directions given by the other student. They will be able to cross the obstacle only when they listen attentively. www.killeenisd.org Killeen Independent School District 200 N.
