  2. Background Information Originated in Scandinavia Named after the 10th Century Danish King, King Harold Bluetooth. Scandinavian Europe was torn apart while King Bluetooth helped unite the different regions.

  3. What Is Bluetooth Technology? Provides completely wireless connections to many different devices Makes an easier and faster way of communication More convenient for many people

  4. How Does Bluetooth Work Bluetooth Networks have many piconets connected by two or more nodes which share the same channel. All piconets have one master and up to seven slaves. The master is the main source of communication in the piconet.

  5. Example of Bluetooth Think of this: A Standard Office setup (computer, keyboard, mouse, printer) With Bluetooth there are no wires. The Bluetooth printer comes with an adapter for the Computer which share the same profile. They will connect to each other making a piconet so they can communicate without the mess of cables.

  10. Availability and Popularity Available worldwide Most Cell Phone Providers have Bluetooth enabled products Some are still just beginning to sell them Over 1,000 Bluetooth devices created so far
