  12. ROTC stands for Reserve Officer Training Corps and is one of the most all-encompassing scholarship programs in the United States. As part of ROTC, students receive the education necessary to excel as future Officers in the Army, Navy, and Air Force.

  13. Financial Assistance Most ROTC scholarships cover the entire cost of tuition. The Navy covers housing and books as well as provides a stipend, while the Army covers only tuition. Air Force offers a majority of scholarship recipients full tuition up to the in-state cost as well as stipends for books. ROTC members are also provided a living expense. Starting at $250 a month, the amount increases each school year.

Eligibility Requirements *Be a U.S. citizen. *Age: at least 17 years of age but no older than 26 for the Army, at least 17 years of age but no older than 23 for the Navy, at least 17 years of age but no older than 31 of the year you will commission for Air Force. *Receive a high school diploma by August 1st of the year you plan to enter ROTC

  15. *GPA: at least 2.5 for the Army, at least 3.0 for the Air Force, Navy typically around a 3.25.

  16. SAT: at least 920 (verbal and math) for Army, at least 1050 for Navy, at least 1100 for Air Force ACT: at least 19 for Army at least 21 Math, at 22 English for Navy, at least 24 for Air Force

  17. In-School Responsibilities During school, ROTC members function like any other college or university student. ROTC classes are a requirement as well as other training programs over the summer, depending on the branch. Post-Graduation Responsibilities Upon graduation, you won’t have to search for a job. You’ll be enlisted as an Officer in your respective branch—the equivalent of a high-profile job at a corporation. Naval Academy Summer Seminar Will meet the age requirement of at least 17 years old on 1 July of the following application year; Unmarried, not pregnant and have no legal obligation to support a child, children or other individual(s); Superior high school performance to include: GPA, class standing, and/or strong PSAT, SAT, or ACT results; Demonstrated achievement in athletics and extracurricular activities, especially demonstrating leadership potential in these areas; Physically fit and in good health with normal vision (20/40 or correctable to 20/20); Positive attitude, self-disciplined, and of good moral character

  21. Summer STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) Program Eligibility Requirements The Naval Academy Summer STEM Program is offered to rising 8th-11th Graders. Students must demonstrate superior academic performance to include GPA, class standing, and/or strong PSAT, SAT or ACT results.  Selection is based in large part on ensuring geographic representation along with overall accomplishments in and out of the classroom.  All applicants will be notified of their status by May 1st.  2012 application available here in February
