  1. Can culture help youth overcome the crisis? And the balance, like a prophet, says…

  2. Yes. It can.

  3. but, because always was a “but” , a curious voice wanting to hear the calling… it asks: - What means this word? Culture?

  4. The curious voice was the Youth…

  5. The prophet of balance hearing the unrest in this question, says: - Culture means everything. Culture is knowledge. Culture is science beyond science…

  6. “Culture is a way of life, a creative force expressed by a collectivity.” Marin Preda

  7. Youth: - Old man, what are you saying? I don’t understand.

  8. Prophet: - Listen to this information! Did you know that tiger sharks have the capacity of modifying their chemical body composition to adapt to their environment? If not, the shark’s blood would be just as its salt water environment.

  9. Youth: - Why would I need to know this? Why should I care about this piece of information?

  10. Prophet: - But now you know it! You learned something new today.

  11. Youth: -I like the arts, I don’t need or want to know things about nature and the environment.

  12. Prophet: -But this is a part of art. Culture is the sum of all artistic fields…it is your soul that chooses which type of art fits best for you.

  13. Youth: -What if I don’ t know exactly which is more suitable for me?

  14. Ask your inner soul…Your heart, will tell you…

  15. Youth: -What do you think the answer will be? Will it solve my troubles? you're living in a dream world, old crazy man! This is the reality... and it's cruel.

  16. Prophet:- So be it, it's your crisis, it's your reality.

  17. Youth: “ silence thinking”

  18. Prophet: you are to me an open book with many empty pages - unwritten. You need to fill up these pages with your story.

  19. Prophet: - Go home, Youth! Read a book everyday; choose the topic you most enjoy, it doesn't matter how many pages there are. Then, go take long walks through nature...

  20. do all this everyday for thirty days! Then come back to me.

  21. The Youth, knowing there was nothing else important to do, decided to take the prophet's advice, to follow this path...

  22. Starting the next day, Youth reads more about visual arts, about painters, more so than Youth would have even in university. Going for a long walk after, Youth was thinking with frustration and ambition about what the prophet will say once Youth finishes these readings and sees that there will be no results.

  23. Moreover, in this long walk, Youth was finding out so many new facts so close to home: the cricket's song in the serene night; the smiles of children playing with candy floss; the cool summer rain which refreshed all the world. All this made Youth wish to find out more about everything... to enrich Youth's culture for it's own soul.

  24. After seven days, Youth got a call from some friends to go to a club in the city and have fun. ..

  25. Suddenly, Youth became upset, and started yelling on the phone: "You incapable people have no culture! Leave me alone, I don't need you!" and slammed the phone down.

  26. Youth was very frustrated: no money, no bright future, no social status, far from being anyone important, as Youth wished.

  27. Suddenly it realized that it doesn't need friends, that it's strong - stronger than them...

  28. Days passed - Youth went on with reading and long walks trying to find the best in this situation.

  29. After twenty days, a couple of friends called again, asking to meet. This time, when they met, they hugged and one friend said:

  30. "I didn't understand when you shouted at us about how uneducated we are and how you didn't need us - but this is true! You really didn’t need us then - but, I think now you do need us. And we need you."

  31. “Last night I had a dream. We were a group of designers recruiting more designers to work with us on a visual arts project. I was telling myself: how can i recruit others when I myself was not recruited yet? “

  32. Youth: Maybe we are already chosen! Let's go to my room, I read a few interesting concepts that I would like to share and discuss with you about.

  33. They discovered they can achieve great things together, not only have fun. They realized that somebody's wanting more and somebody admitting they need more in life will create change.

  34. After 30 days, Youth returned to the prophet and said: "I'm sorry. I was wrong to call you crazy. Now I know that I was the one not seeing who I am and not knowing how much I am capable of. Now that I have a goal, I know I'll get over it - it will pass.

  35. Realize you need more. Wish to become more! Create a goal and share it with someone close to your heart!

  36. If you're alone, don't fret - you won't be alone much longer.

  37. When you attain your strength, become the heart of your community.

  38. You, Youth, whose life is so full like pages of a book

  39. You don't need some 'prophet' to tell you what is going on with you, all you need is to awaken your consciousness.

  40. This story is not meant to change you to become someone important, because you already are. This story was written with the intent of reminding you that you are always stronger than you believe, because you believe.
