ONLINE PRESS RELEASE Online Press Release (mid may) • Angle: Media Challenge is not just a competition for fun, but there is real learning involved and students can get a taste of the working world • Headline:Get down to the real work with Republic Polytechnic’s Media Challenge • Lead: Most secondary students don’t quite know what goes on and around the media industry. That’s why Republic Polytechnic is holding “The Media Challenge”. It is an exciting competition that gets students to come up with the best multi-media news package, using various skills such as blogging, photography, videography, and interviewing.

  5. VIDEO PRODUCTION Video Production • Student produced and directed • Reflect the professionalism that students in Diploma in Mass Communication learn.

  6. CAMPAIGN MAIN OBJECTIVE Republic Polytechnic’s Diploma in Mass Communication (DMC) is the only diploma that is digitally advanced. Theme: Moving forward with digital media The whole feel would be very futuristic, digitally advanced, technology savvy.

CAMPAIGN EXECUTION • School assemblies (Schools in the North) • Target Audience: Teachers & Students. • Lineup of event introduction(< 20 minutes) • Show promotional video • Facilitator to expand into further details • Mini Media Challenge game  1st prize: Canon digital camera • Dissemination of flyers

  8. + BOOTH Where? Canteen What? Games! Prizes to be won, ask them to LIKE DMC Facebook page How? Direct students to the booth if they want to win more prizes! Sponsored laptops by Acer will be set up. Why? We need students to LIKE our Facebook page Who? Facilitators will be attending to the booth. When? After school

  9. Roadshows • Where? Scape* (Government-supported hang-out spot for youths) • What? Publicize The Media Challenge • How? Picture frame! Disseminate flyers and freebies, force students to scan QR code that directs to DMC Facebook page. • Why? Public relations. We need Facebook page likes! • Who? RP student volunteers. • When? Every weekend in March JOIN THE MEDIA CHALLENGE 2013 Like us on Facebook!
