  4. CFC belongs to YOU: The Federal Employee(Military and Civilian Federally Employed Personnel) 1) Choice - You get to send your money to an organization of your choice based upon personal passions and interests. 2) Convenience - You fill out a pledge, we administer your contribution of choice. 3) Accountability - All organizations undergo a rigorous annual application process (screened by Federal Employees like you) and our office is audited following completion to ensure all money has been placed correctly as you specified.

  5. What is a Key Person? The person within an activity who is responsible for the actual solicitation on a one-on-one basis. The Keyperson reports to an Activity Chairperson.

  6. You should: - Know what CFC is. - Know how it works. - Know where to go for answers.

  7. Dealing with Myths andknowing the facts • Myth: No matter how much is raised, the same percentage will get taken in admin costs. • Myth: I could avoid administrative costs by donating on my own. • Fact: Either way there will be overhead; the CFC program saves you… • Your time (to include research), gas, postage, bank fees, and/or processing fees.(CFC has validated the integrity and trust of all approved non-profits to increase your confidence in selection.) • Fact: A budget is established before the campaign begins. The percentage spent on admin costs goes down as more money is raised.

  8. Myths and facts • Fact: The CFC makes the donation process efficient by pooling resources and significantly reducing each charity’s burden on soliciting. • Myth: The CFC adds cost to non-profits • Fact: The cost of one Big Mac per month is equal to the cost of a treatment for drug abuse. • Myth: $10/pay period won’t help anyone, anywhere.

  9. Why should you(a donor) support an organization through the CFC program? Lead by example!
