What is WebEOC? • WebEOC is a web-based Crisis Information Management System that provides real-time information sharing to facilitate decision making before, during, and after a crisis or disaster. • Originally developed for public safety and emergency management officials, WebEOC is now also used also for routine operations in private corporations, public utilities, domestic and international airlines, healthcare associations, and universities, as well as by government at every level---city, county, state, and federal agencies. How do I access WebEOC? 1) WebEOC works best if viewed with Mozilla Firefox 2.0 (or greater) Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 (or greater). 2) WebEOC requires all Popup Blockers to be disabled or otherwise turned off.   8. How do I access WebEOC? From any computer with internet! Open Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox Direct your browser to https://webeoc.bvceoc.org/eoc7/ Click ‘Continue to Log In’ Enter your user name (LastNameFirstNameLast4ofSSN) Enter your password (Password) Click ‘OK’ You Try Brazos Valley Crisis Information Systems Training

  12. Using WebEOC The Control Panel Once you are logged in, a “Popup Window” will open and your Control Panel will appear. This is where all your WebEOC activity will originate from. Brazos Valley Crisis Information Systems Training

Using WebEOC • The Position Log • The position log is the Official Transcript of events that occur before, during and after an incident or event. • Everything you do while on-duty should be entered in the Position Log. It is your personal log sheet or diary of all actions taken during the incident. This includes: • Phone calls • Radio traffic • Requests • Status Updates • Time you came on or off duty • And any other action you take or are involved with Brazos Valley Crisis Information Systems Training

  17. Using WebEOC • Why do I have to enter everything I do in the Position Log? • This log will be used during and after the incident or event for various reasons. Some of which may include: • Personal Accountability • Incident Debrief • Shift Change • After Action Review • Incident and request tracking • Assist with financial reimbursement • And most importantly; because we can all communicate better!   20. Using WebEOC The Position Log Did you notice the board named ‘Position Log’ is no longer bold or red? No updates since you last viewed this display Brazos Valley Crisis Information Systems Training

  21. Using WebEOC The Position Log Did you also notice there is now a red ‘x’ ( ) to the right of the board named ‘Position Log’? Indicates the Display Window for this board is open. Brazos Valley Crisis Information Systems Training

  22. Using WebEOC Click on the Blue Plus Icon to open the Input Window The Position Log The ‘Plus’ Icon to the right of every ‘Board’ is the ‘Input’ window. If the icon is grey( ) you do not have access to input data to that board. If the icon is blue ( ) you do have access. You may click on it to open the Position Log ‘Input’ window.   25. Using WebEOC Significant Events If SE is checked, it will be sent to the local significant event board, if regional event is checked it will be sent to the regional SE board Brazos Valley Crisis Information Systems Training

  26. Using WebEOC • Significant Events (A.K.A. Sig Event or SE) • A Significant Event is an event that : • could impact other departments, agencies, and / or jurisdictions • could impact critical infrastructure • indicates a change in activation, readiness, or operational status eg. Chemical Release/Spill, Major Accident, Severe Weather, etc… eg. Loss of Utilities, Loss of Mobility, Physical Damage, etc… eg.
