Applied ………Who should apply ? • Students who would take all ordinary level subjects at Leaving Cert. aspiring to a grade D. • Students who find difficulty with learning by rote rather than learning by doing. • Students who have difficulty with essay type answers. • Students with poor attention span and retention skills.

  4. What is Leaving Cert. Applied? • 40 modules over 2 Years • Continuous Assessment

  5. General Education • Social Issues • PE • Gaeilge • German • Mathematical Applications • ICT

  6. Practical Courses • Engineering or Construction • Hotel, Catering & Tourism • Agricultural and Horticultural Studies • Art or Drama

  7. Preparation for Work • English and Communications • Guidance and Enterprise • Work Experience on day release

  8. Course broken into 4 Sessions • Year 1 • Sep- Jan • Feb - May • Year 2 • Sep – Jan • Feb –May • Final Exams in June

  9. Assessment • Credits awarded for the following elements: • External examiner interviews covering specific tasks • Continuous assignments • Attendance/Participation • Final Exams
