What is MDI? • Funded by grants from MDA • Structured with 6 regions + SFA throughout the state of Minnesota • Producer-led initiative to bring in a team approach of industry professional services • Available to all dairy producers regardless of size or production • Must be selling milk and on the MDA list of dairy farms • Custom fit and flexible to the needs of each dairy farm • Dairy producers select their own diagnostic team members with the help of a MDI coordinator/team lead • Average team meets 2-4 times a year to review progress and goals of the dairy farm • Teams stay working together as long as dairy is on the program Established to Energize a Healthy and Vibrant Dairy Industry in Minnesota

  8. Enrollment • $200.00 annual enrollment fee • Enrollment application • Farm Meetings • Minutes recorded • Farm Team • Meet average 2-4 times a year • Minimum of 3 individuals qualify a team (team leader, another industry professional, and the farmer)

  9. Scholarships • Each dairy farm is eligible to receive a scholarship to help advance their operation • $500.00 • Cannot be used for the same item for 2 consecutive years • Can use for non-capital purchases on the farm • Reference MDI Scholarship Uses form for ideas
