  1. During May 2010 we celebrated Christian Aid Week. The week is celebrated nationally and is an opportunity for the school to reach out into the local community. Through a range of curriculum based activities and with the support of Emmanual Church the week helped to support and raise awareness of the valuable work Christian Aid do. Activities that took place during the week included: Christian Aid Week2010 • Rev Mike Hindley held a whole school assembly to promote Christian Aid Week and to provide children with information about Christian Aid. • Christian Aid envelopes were distributed to all children throughout the school with the school raising a fantastic £173.75. • During curriculum time children produced a range of artwork to promote and celebrate Christian Aid Week. Work completed included persuasive posters, Kenyan art, Massai Masks and jewellery designs. The artwork was then displayed in Emmanuel Church for the duration of Christian Aid Week. • Year 3 and 5 visited Emaunuel Church to learn more about Christian Aid and improve their understanding of the valuable work they do. • The Barlows School Choir visited Ennerdale Residential Home and performed a range of songs for the residents. Following their performance the children then sat and talked with the residents sharing school memories. • Kathleen Zimak a Christian Aid Volunteer held a whole school assembly to celebrate Christian Aid Week and thank the children for all their hard work and support.
