Creating a Distribution List using Outlook 2007 Similar to each schools’ list-serve except that YOU are in control.
Comments? Why? - To send a message to more than one person more than once. Examples? – Grade Levels, Departments, Tracks, (friends, family)… Why Office 2007? We will all be there soon enough. Office 2003 would be extremely similar. The main difference would be the upcoming pictures. There are some more advanced things in here marked with an *.
On the left side of Outlook click on (1) “Contacts” 2 3 Click on the triangle (2) arrow (called a carrot) next to “New” and choose (3) “Distribution List” 1
5 4 (4) Give it a Name(I’m just going to call mine “Practice”) and then (5) Click on“members”
7 6 9 (6) It should default to the Global Address list. (7) Type in someone’s LAST name. (8) Click “Members”. (9) Repeat 7 and 8 until you get all your members. (10) Click OK. 8 10
11 After you have all your members click on (11) “Save and Close”. Congratulations – You made a list.
Sending a Message 12 To send a message to your distribution list click on New Message To address it (12) Click on“to”
14 13 Click on the carrot and (13) Choose “Contacts”. (14)Type in the name of your list and click on it. (15)Click on “To->. (16)Click on OK. 15 16
