Childhood • Paul's childhood was very different from ours he had no air conditioning. =0 • Some days he would go without food. • I know your thinking so how did he become famous then?=/ • Well he worked very hard but he was not very smart. • One day a man came into town saying that you would get a dollar every minute you stayed in the ring with a muzzled bear. • Well Paul was actually winning when the bears muzzle came off and punctured his ear and he ran off screaming bloody murder

  4. Joe Peterno was the only coach in the 21st century to remember coaching a game against Paul

  5. Pre-flight school • When WWII broke out Paul was offered a job as head coach at Arkansas but turned down the offer and coached at a pre-flight school in North Carolina and got ranked up lieutenant commander

  6. Head coach • After his experience in the military he went on to coach the University of Maryland ,Kentucky ,Texas A&M , and the best college he is known for is the University of Alabama he had 6 national championships with the tide 1961, 1964, 1965, 1973, 1978, and 1979. • At the end of his career he had 323 wins 85 losses 17 ties

  7. Death • Late in 1982 he retired he told reporters jokingly that he would probably croak in a week he was close he died a month later in January 23, 1983
