    1. WHAT’S NEXT? What do I take after IMS 100?

    2. MIS 108, Internet Basics This course provides an overview of Internet basics, such as the use of browsers to search the World Wide Web, e-mail, and other Internet utilities.

    3. IMS Dept. Curriculum Tracks OSA Prepares students for office-related positions such as administrative assistant, executive assistant, legal assistant, medical secretary, receptionist, data entry, desktop publishing specialist, PC help desk, and office manager. MIS Prepares students for positions in programming (PC or midrange computers), Web development, and e-commerce development.

    4. IMS 101, Introduction to Computer Systems Lecture: More computer concepts Lab: Microsoft Office suite basics Prepares students for IC3 certification (Internet and Computer Core Certification). Students intending to pursue the MIS track should take IMS 101.

    5. IMS 115, Introduction to PC Applications Lab/lecture: Windows XP Word 2007 (word processing) Excel 2007 (spreadsheets) Access 2007 (database management) PowerPoint 2007 (presentation graphics) Outlook 2007 (desktop information mgmt.) Students intending to pursue the OSA track should take IMS 115.

    6. MIS 105, Programming Principles This course is designed as a fundamental course for students continuing their studies in programming. MIS 105 is a prerequisite for all other MIS programming courses.

    7. Keyboarding Courses If you lack keyboarding skills or if you want to improve your keyboarding skills: OSA 100, Keyboarding I (1 or 3 credits) OSA 104, Keyboarding Speed and Accuracy (1 credit). OSA 100 or its equivalent is a prerequisite.
