Vocabulary for Article • Carcinogens: a substance capable of causing cancer in living tissue. • Synthetic:a substance that is produced artificially. • Adulterated: to make (something, such as a food or drink) impure or weaker by adding something of poor quality. • Delaney Amendment: an amendment to the U. S. Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act banning the use of carcinogenic food additives, such as artificial sweeteners and food colorings.
