  1. Sharing the Gospel

  2. 1.God the creator; humanity ruling under his authority.2.Humanity rebels, wishing to run things its own way.3.God judges (and will judge) humanity for this rebellion.4. In his love, God sends Jesus to die as an atoning sacrifice.5. In his power, God raises Jesus to life as ruler and judge.6. This presents us with a challenge to repent and believe/grow.

  3. The method is determined by the receiver.

  4. Consider the mind-set+ needs of the receiver

  5. 2 Cor 7:1- Let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God (Amplified: Bring consecration to completeness in the reverential fear of God!)

  6. Separation (cut!) : ‘to avoid the bait is easier than to struggle in its hook’.(6:14-16a,17)(E.g. Boy falling out of bed) • Consecration: to will one thing! (singlemindedness); ‘Unless there is within us that which is above us, we shall soon yield to that which is about us’(e.g. raindrop in muddy pool). (6:16,18); Awe for God! • Sanctification: This is what God does through His Word and Spirit.(John 17:17) • Transformation: Into the likeness of Jesus.(Eph 4:13,15)

  7. Why would Christians choose to sin rather than choose what they know God wants them to do?. 1. : Christians who willfully sin have forgotten their true identity as "children of God." (Romans 8:16) 2. Christians choose to sin because they have lost sight of what God has done for them. 2 Peter 1:9 indicates that Christians can be "blind or short-sighted, having forgotten [their] purification from [their] former sins." 3. Christians consciously choose to sin because they have forgotten that God will severely discipline disobedient believers.(Heb 12:7) 4. Christians who consciously sin have lost their focus on the future. (1 Cor 9:24). Christians who fail to keep eternity in mind often sin in the here and now. Ultimately: You do not love your Father!

  8. Dr. Dale Oldham: "The Bible tells us we are to live by the Spirit, walk in the Spirit, be led by the Spirit, mind the things of the Spirit, pray in the Spirit and sing in the Spirit. This being the case, you could expect 'spirituality' to be the chief characteristic of the people of God. But there can be no genuine 'spirituality' unless the Spirit of God dwells within us."
