  2. Eastern Woodland • Lived in wigwam or longhouse • ate corn, beans, squash, deer rabbit turkey, berries • were hunters and farmers • tribes include Powhatan, Iroquois, Cherokee

  3. Eastern Woodland • Walked or paddled in canoes for transportation • men wore breeches or a breech cloth and shaved most of the head • women wore fringed dresses decorated with beads

  4. Northwest Indians • lived in large homes made from wood • fishermen and woodcarvers • ate fish, seals, whales • made totem poles • tribes include Haida • walked or paddled for transportation • tatooed their skin

Southwest Indians • Lived in the dry desert • lived in pueblo, adobe, or hogan • ate corn, beans, squash, wild turkeys rabbits • were farmers and builders of irrigation • tribes include Pueblo, Hopi, Navajo, Apache • walked for transportation • famous for the woolen blankets, pottery and baskets
