Spectrum Academy offers multiple graduation tracks to support students' diverse needs, including University/Traditional, Occupational/Modified, and Functional Skills. Students on an IEP have until age 22 to complete their credits. Our academic counselors Whitney Dilley and Jessica McGill are available for guidance on graduation plans and vocational rehabilitation. Each track is designed to prepare students for future opportunities, whether in higher education, vocational training, or independent living. Contact us to learn more about your path to graduation!

3 Graduation Tracks • University/Traditional Track • Occupational/Modified Track • Functional Skills • **If student is on an IEP, they have until 22, to complete credits in any of the above tracks.
University/Traditional Track • What is this? • Courses follow the Utah State Office of Education Requirements. (24 credits) Student wills receive a DIPLOMA • These are courses that ALL students are taking within their grade level. • i.e. 9th Graders: Secondary Math 1 • 10th Graders: Secondary Math 2 • Students are eligible to attend a University after graduation because courses required for admissions have been taken.
Occupational/ modified Track • What is this? • Courses follow the Utah State Office of Education Requirements. (24 credits) Student wills receive a DIPLOMA • Courses are modified based on students academic level. Modified courses are course substituted to provide appropriate credit. MUST BE ON AN IEP • i.e. 9th Graders: Secondary Math 1 can take Occupational Math • 9thGraders: English 9 can take Occupational Reading • Students are eligible to attend the Davis Applied Technology College (DATC) or Salt Lake Community College after graduation. Transferring to a University is an option, to bypass admission requirements.
Functional Skills • What is this? • Courses are taught to encourage independent living skills, and employment ability. Courses do NOT follow the state requirements, and students will earn a Certificate of Completion. • Courses are modified based on students academic level. Modified courses are course substituted to provide appropriate credit. MUST BE ON AN IEP • i.e. 9th Graders: Can take Occupational Math or FLS Math • Students will participate in On-the-job Training Opportunities.
Davis Applied Technology College (DATC) • Who is eligible? • Students who at 16 and in 11th grade. All students attending the DATC must have a 6th grade reading and comprehension level, and must be on track to graduate. • Must apply to attend the DATC. Applications are available with Ms. Whitney. • Will my student be on track to graduate? • Courses taken at the DATC, will count towards graduation by completing a Course Substitution Form.
