Basic Information about IBM Online Aptitude Test (IPAT) Type of Test - Aptitude Test (similar to the previous Aptitude Test) Duration of Test - Approximately 1 hour Introduction The IPAT is used to test the ability to analyze and solve problems. This test is not designed to measure the technical knowledge. IBM uses this test because it has proven to be a valid predictor of the ability to rapidly learn and process complex information. This ability is essential for the job to which you are applying. IBM recruits applicants through many different sources. This test enables IBM to compare applicants on a standard, objective measure. This online test takes approximately 45 minutes to an hour to complete. IBM will use test scores as part of the recruitment process. Test scores will be kept confidential.
