Forgetting – CS Perspective • Is forgetting removal from memory (deletion/garbage collection) or making it harder to find (foreground and background info, removing links) • As storage becomes cheaper do we need to remove anything completely from memory? • How do we decide what to forget (e.g.hotel room numbers)? • Inadvertently forgetting - dealing with changing formats (hardware/software) • Do computers dream? • Privacy, security, trust issues (development of forensic science)
