  2. Why does it matter? • LinkedIn is becoming an increasingly popular tool for professional networking. It provides a platform for showing what motivates you in your career and what you have already achieved, including degrees, published papers, awards, and more. If you don’t already have one, sign up for an account at http://www.linkedin.com/. • By following the IGB company page, you will receive news updates about the Institute as well as its employment opportunities, which may fit your career aspirations. • By using the Institute for Genomic Biology (IGB) as your company on your profile, you can showcase the unique research environment that helps you achieve success.

  3. First, search for the “Institute for Genomic Biology” at the top of the page and select Institute for Genomic Biology from the drop menu. (You can also go to http://www.linkedin.com/company/IGBIllinois.)

  4. On the Institute for Genomic Biology’s company page, select the Follow button.
