  2. The country has struggled with power and leadership for a long time. Military began drafting a new constitution in 1992. The current leader is President TheinSein. Myanmar has a Unitary Presidential Constitutional Republic meaning that the president is head of the state and federal governement. The government is VERY harsh to their people. For example, citizens houses are searched at random without warrants. People are punished very often and the ones who are put in prison are abused and usually killed. Government and conflicts

  3. Any people or groups that oppose the government have been arrested. The government does not allow religious freedom and forces Buddhism upon almost everyone. Burmas conflicts are only inside of their boundaries, they do not have any conflicts with other countries. They have started to release prisoners, released press information about new laws and have held the first elections There are predictions that Myanmar will become much more violent in the coming years because of religious reasons Government and conflicts cont.
