  5. The word urban means to be living in, or from, the city To be in the city means you are surrounded by lots of buildings, lots of cars and lots of people What is the name of this city? Suburban areas are part of the urban area but are slightly different Suburban areas are found on the outside of the inner city and are filled mostly with houses They have schools, parks, libraries and local shops, which is why many people choose to live here What is the name of the suburban area your school is in? Discuss as a class and see what differences you can find… • there are many tall concrete buildings • there are many houses • there are many green hills • there are many cars • there are few cars • we can see no cars • many people work here • many of people live here • few people work or live here

  9. By looking at the land from above, we can also see how urban changes into suburban and then in to rural…
