Academics from Humboldt University in Berlin will meet with the FASS Cities Research Cluster to explore potential collaborations in urban studies. Discussions will focus on comparative urbanism, urban fear and safety, the clustering of social, economic, and political power, and graduate student exchange. Tuesday 13 August 2013, 2:00pm Research Seminar Room 42, Level 6 AS7 Shaw Foundation Building, NUS Research Collaboration Meeting with Humboldt University Abstract A group of academics from Humboldt University in Berlin will be visiting FASS Cities Research Cluster to discuss possible research collaboration with urban scholars. The themes to be discussed are: (1) Comparative urbanism, including Asian cities (especially Jakarta and Hyderabad); (2) Urban fear and safety; (3) The clustering of social, economic and political power; (4) Building upon existing research network funding from the British LeverhulmeTrust; (5) Graduate student exchange This meeting is open to FASS faculty and students only.
