OOD Qualification Course Overview: Structure, Prerequisites, and Assessments

This course is designed for personnel preparing for the Officer of the Deck (OOD) role on LCS platforms. Participants must meet prerequisites, including a qualification letter from legacy platforms and billeted status. The course includes comprehensive assessments—written exams and practical evaluations—where a passing grade of 80% is required. Students are allowed one retake for failed assessments and must complete a total of 121 hours over various training modalities, including classroom and simulator training. Cumulative material ensures mastery without "data dumping".
