IBO MISSION • The International Baccalaureate Organization aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people, who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. • To this end, the IBO works with schools, governments, and international organizations to develop challenging programs of international education and rigorous assessment. • These programs encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate, and lifelong learners, who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

It is truly mission-based Students demonstrate their knowledge on multiple assessments Curriculum is focused on writing, research, critical thinking, collaboration and oral presentation skills. It truly is a program of studies linked by common themes and purposes. Riverview IB is a wonderful family of faculty & students working together.

AP VS IB • National standard of excellence • AP consists of independent courses for students who may excel in only one or two academic disciplines • AP scores are based solely on the AP exam • AP exams are multiple choice and short-answer or essay exams • International standard of excellence • IB is a 2 yr well-rounded education program with 6 areas of study, an extended essay, TOK and CAS • IB scores are based on classroom work and on IB exams • IB exams are all short answer or essay exams

  12. 1. Final grades of A or B in core classes in Grade 7 and first semester Grade 8 2. Level 4+ on FCAT 3. Strong attendance/behavior profile

  13. Admissions Favorable Consideration: *Completion of Algebra I in Grade 8 with Grade of A/B *Completion of level one of a second language *Strong written component Additional Criteria: *Students will be required to take entrance examinations in Math for placement purposes. Dates TBA.
