  2. A The tool drop is usually the first stage in the decon setup. The tools are placed for the use of another entry team or may be collected here for later decontamination.

  3. B In most systems gross decon is the next step. Some response teams use showers or hoselines to accomplish this task. JPR 5-1B

  4. C The next step is formal decon and may involve two stations in which the responder is rinsed, scrubbed, and rinsed again. The solution used is chemical dependent and varies depending on the contaminant. This is the first step in which other responders may assist. JPR 5-1C

  5. D After the wet portion of the decon process, the entry team removes their PPE, with the assistance of other responders. JPR 5-1D

  6. E After the removal of PPE, the entry team will remove their SCBA. It is usually placed into some type of containment system for later cleaning. JPR 5-1E

  7. F In some systems a fourth washing area is established for body washing. Some teams may set up a tent for this purpose. JPR 5-1F

  8. G The last steps are hydration and medical evaluation. JPR 5-1G

  9. H Medical evaluation after entry is very important. Hazardous materials suit work is very stressful on the body. JPR 5-1H
