  2. What causes hurricanes? The two things hurricanes need to form are: • Warm water • Moist warm air That’s why most hurricanes form in the tropics.

  3. How to prepare for a hurricane... Things you will need to do to be ready : • Cover windows and roofs with shutters. • Put your cars in a garage. • Bring dog houses inside. • Trim trees and bushes that are close to your house. • Store bottled water and canned foods. • Buy torch lights and a radio that run on batteries. • Bring your pets inside.

  4. What to do during a hurricane... • During a hurricane everyone in the household should be in the safest place in the house. • It is very important to stay inside. • Turn the power off.
